Privacy Policy

The short version: Unthought works fully without giving us anything. If you choose to give your email, we use it (and how you use the app) to send you emails about your practice. We never sell your data, show no ads and do no cross-app tracking. Delete everything anytime in the app.

What stays on your device

The app saves the following only on your iPhone, so it can work:

the first name you optionally enter, used for the greeting
your preferences: what you'd like to feel, where you usually pause, daily goal, rest days, reminder times, captions and haptics
your completed pauses (date, practices, points and the optional "how do you feel" answer), used for Calm points, streaks and progress
the practices and packs you save

This information stays on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes it.

If you give us your email (optional)

During setup you can enter your first name and email, or skip. If you do, we receive:

your first name and email address
whether you ticked "send me tips, new practices and offers"
how you use the app: practices you complete (which ones, length, the feeling you chose), when you open the paywall, which plan you choose and whether a purchase completed or was cancelled. Never your payment details.
your time zone, so emails arrive at a sensible hour

We use this to run the app's email features (your weekly recap, reminders about a free trial you started, account and billing notices) and, only if you ticked the box, to send tips, new practices and offers. If you skip the email step, none of this is sent anywhere.

This information is processed for us by OneSignal, our email and messaging service, which stores it on our behalf and may not use it for anything else. We keep it until you delete it or unsubscribe and ask us to remove it.

Your choices: every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link. In the app, Settings › Delete my data erases everything on your iPhone and deletes you from our email service. You can also email us to access, correct or delete your data.

Apple Health

If you turn on "Save to Apple Health", Unthought writes your Mindful Minutes (the start and end time of each pause) to the Health app. Unthought does not read any data from Apple Health. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never shared with third parties, and never stored outside Apple Health. You can turn this off in the app, or in the Health app under Sharing › Apps › Unthought.

Notifications

If you start the Meditation Timer, the app schedules local reminders on your iPhone. They are created and delivered on your device; no server is involved.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We don't receive your name, email or payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to purchases: apple.com/legal/privacy.

Coach videos

Coach videos are included in the app and play on your device. Nothing you do is sent to any AI service. The coaches are AI-generated fictional characters, not real people.

Children

Unthought is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us their email, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
